Deremiah, *CPE uses a continuous regimen
to stay in shape

Michael Williams says, Like many successful Nightingale
Conant speakers, Deremiah, *CPE, is short on time, but he still manages to fit weight lifting and exercise into his
busy schedule. You can too! One great way to do it is to start out each day like Deremiah does by exercising. If
you’re really short on time exercise at least 20-30 minutes and you’ll see the difference in your body in a short amount
of time! |
He stars in motivational presentations,
designs his own line of clothing and miscellaneous wares, donates time to numerous organizations like Kiwanis and AWANA,
writes songs, paints & draws and raises a dozen children from several cultures and mentors students; and somehow Deremiah,
*CPE, manages to squeeze exercise into his jam packed schedule everyday. We caught up with this expert multitasker to
get the skinny on his thoughtful approach to fitness.
Living
Free: How do you fit exercise into a day packed as tightly
as yours?
Deremiah, *CPE: It’s easy. I just do it first thing in the morning quite early. That way
I don’t have to try to do it later when I’m tired. Doing it first thing keeps me refreshed and revitalized. After weightlifting
and exercise I take a hot shower and turn it to cold before I get out. This helps me to feel energized the whole day.
Living Free:
How would you describe the kind of work out you do?
Deremiah,
*CPE: It's an easy method you can use where you build on
consistent workouts using slow high repetition. While exercising is good for you I’ve added weight lifting in order to
tone and strengthen. Now when you combine this with plenty of water, good balanced eating…lots of fruits, vegetables and
small servings of Fish or chicken you have the same diet I’ve used to stay fit and trim.
Living
Free: Is there anything you stay away from when you’re working
out?
Deremiah, *CPE:
Yes. I stay away from procrastinating about working out. That's why doing it first thing every morning is so important.
Build it into your daily routine as a habit and you'll avoid putting it off. I also avoid any exercise routines that fail
to practice a slow controlled methodology. If it’s real wild and out of control I know that’s not for me. More injuries
happen when people are just flying through their routines without applying some discretion. Patiance is a virtue.
Living Free:
Can you do your routine on the road as easily as you do it at home?
Deremiah,
*CPE: Absolutely. My work out can easily be done anywhere.
With a couple of dumb bells you can duplicate my work out right now. If you don't have weights don't worry about it. Before
I added the weight training I use to focus on Jumping Jacks, push-ups, crunchers, running in place or in the gym and of course
stretching. When you add dumb bells now you can use this tool in so many ways that you'll never get board with your routine.
Dumb bells allow you to add variations. You can vary the extensions or distance you use the weight from your body. And there
are plenty of variations you can do on the curl (regular or reverse).
Living
Free: Does staying fit help your creativity?
Deremiah, *CPE: Sure
it does. Great circulation and even mental focus while working out opens up your idea well. Your creativity is always
more prevalent and apparent when you workout early. The stimulation to the brain with increased blood flow, water intake
and oxygen is tremendous. It is a great stimulant to increased idea generation. Combine your work out with affirmations
and you lock your future up in your brain and in your muscles brains all at the same time.
